An egg cannot be hatched if it is not cared for properly. Were these normal animal eggs, 24-hour constant incubation and careful handling would be required to ensure the developing creature inside can reach maturity. However, Pokemon eggs are not the same. Should you put the egg down, its hatch will merely be postponed.
