RULES
1. Teams have one overall goal: work together to design a racing kart specific and symbolic to their team, especially based around the team's themes and/or mascot animal. There are two components to this: Cosmetic, and functional.
2. The cosmetic component has to do with the physical design / look of the cart. GO WILD. Your car could be anything from a space ship to an ice cream cone or an actual NASCAR. Whatever your team deems most appropriate for themselves, we only require that the cart still be drive-able in the end. Elements that you can mess with include:
· Customizable steering wheel
· Customizable tire rims
· Customizable paint job
· Customizable tires
· Customizable head & tail lights
· Customizable seats
· Customizable frames & body
· Customizable doors
· Customizable decorative mounts (for front and back)
· Customizable windshields & windows
Basically, everything is customizable in appearance, so go wild.
Examples: Tires that look like marshmallows or have studs. A tiny horse mounted to the grill or the hood of the car. Cars that resemble dessert.
3. Aside from the actual physical design, teams will be allowed to equip their cart with special offensive and defensive equipment. This is the functional component of the game. Please refer to the following chart for your available options. Your team may have up to:
· 9 blue items.
· 4 yellow items.
· 3 pink items.
· 2 green items.
· 2 orange items.
· 1 red item.
4. You do not have to use any of the items but are encouraged to use as many as you can/you deem to make sense (see the winning categories in item 5).
5. Every team's cart comes with a unique ~special attack~ that you, as the team, will determine and incorporate into your cart. Thematically it should be in some way related to your team's theme, mascot animal, or patron. Have fun and be creative!
EXAMPLE: Team Ogre creates an onion launcher that launches diced raw onions at combatant carts to make them cry. OH NOEZ. Or Team Unicorn creates a giant horn mounted to the front of their car that resembles a unicorn's to ram into opponent carts
6. After designing their carts, teams will submit their designs to Units. (OOCly, turn in is due by February 7 at 4:00 PM EST. ) (EDIT: We have changed the original date/time to accommodate the slower threading speed and availability of players.)
7. All of the designs will then be displayed for people to (ICLY) vote on. The categories teams will rate each others' creations on are:
· Most Creative
· Cutest
· Silliest
· Coolest
· Most Strategically Designed
· Best Unique Attack
8. In addition to teams voting, we will have special guest judges from our resident echoes, The Hearth, Jo, Nene, and the Queen herself. All votes must be received by 10PM EST on Sunday, February 7th in order to be counted.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask either Sipp or Gil. You can find us on plurk at Sippycup and Verisimilitude respectively.
